Kindred Spirits

Members and friends gather at the Summer Solstice Ceremony at Shadybrook

The Power of the Circle in a Poem

The circle gathered round
Beings brought together
By purpose
By intention
By love.
Chaotic and unstructured at first
The energies of many beings
Grew stronger.

Nancy, the conductor,
Orchestrated the coherent swirl of the many
Into a stable pattern
Of resonant frequencies,
Building to eddies
Of stability anchored by the circle.

The room was very still
As the collective intention
Supported by multiple rainbows,
Built to a crescendo
That burst forth
In all directions,
To blanket the earth
With goodness.

We are indeed fortunate
To be part of such a sacred ritual,
Rebirthing ancestral gatherings,
Bringing back to life
The timeless unknown
The timeless unknowable

And the desire to acknowledge
Yet again the conscious intention
Of this gathering of kindred spirits.
The circle, having completed
Its sacred obligation
Dissolves gently into
The gathering twilight,
Each person enriched by
A detailed shared memory
Of what just happened.

A Note from Shadybrook

This beautiful poem was written by a Shadybrook Member following a blessing ceremony held for the new room that holds Reiki Center of the Western Reserve at Shadybrook.

When we read it, we knew we needed to share it. Not only because of what this poem reflects about this one unique ceremony, but also because it reflects a greater intention.

The multiple rainbows that supported the circle

It is our intention to create space for each person to experience this. It is our intention that at each Shadybrook program “the energies of many beings” may come together, united in shared intention and love, “anchored in the circle,” to come into coherence with themselves, with the Divine, and with one another; and that through each experience, we may “blanket the earth with goodness”.
