“When diet is wrong, medicine is of no use; when diet is correct, medicine is of no need.” -Ayurvedic proverb

Ayurveda, India’s traditional medicine, teaches the importance of food as medicine. In the winter months, we need to support our body by taking in more warm, cooked foods and less cold and dry foods in order to nourish our tissues. Cooking with some common kitchen spices can be very medicinal and mood lifting. Spices have powerful properties and it’s important to understand how to use them.

In this workshop you will learn:

  • How to use spices effectively to get the most healing properties out of them safely.
  • What spices and herbs to use in your meals to balance your dosha.
  • Tea demo using warming spices.
  • Recipes that include healing spices.

Join Julie as we dive even deeper into the science of life which is Ayurveda!
